Christmas In Clearwater Fla

Sharon and I arrived here on the 15 of December.........The weather was just what we needed......Our days up until now were good and temps better than those in Rochester N.Y. but we wanted ..NO we needed better temperatures .....
Well so far its been much more pleasent here ......... We've been able to sit outside and read or nap as I like to call it.........

The site we have is one of the bigger ones and its so far been quite and peaceful.....
we've gone on walks and rode our bikes on the trails here also ......

Nice view for Sharon huh ?

Well my folks lived in the area for around 10 years or so......and during that time when my Mom was very ill with cancer the Navy reasigned me to work in   St Pete so I could help out ....I was here over a year living with them ........
I wanted to show Sharon where they lived and in our first days here we drove to the mobile home park to see the old home .......Well :::::::

It was gone !!!!!    I was sad and upset for a time , but what the hell nothing lasts forever and I have my memories some good - some bad , but mostly good !!!!!   My moms sister , my Aunt Dolly and Uncle Ozzie lived here too and their place is still there .......

Well , one of my moms brothers and my " God Father " Uncle Art and his wife Mary live close by ...we had Chirstmas dinner with them and Marys son Bill and his girlfriend Jackie from N.Y. were here too......Oh my Uncle Art should be a much heavier guy with Marys cooking ......sooooo good .........   She made  Turkey , Ham , homemade cranberry Sauce ,  Mashed and  Sweet potato , Dressing , corn and a pinapple frozen salad that as they say was to die for !!!!!!  Thankyou  Mary !!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder where we'll be at Easter time ? uuummmmm
We've been here 10 days and spent alot of time with U. Art and Mary.......Art belongs to the " Knights of Columbus " and marched in a Chirstmas parade ......80 years old and very handsome and strong he is ...walked the whole thing ....here's some shots :

Thats Mary driving their Friends T-Bird and Uncle Art on the left waving ...

And some other neat stuff in the parade .... a parade in Decenber who would of thought .....

It was fun and sunny , beautiful day

Oh ... I promised Monty our ( not really ours but Sharons) cockapoo He could get in the blog and say Merry Christmas to you all !!!!!!!

I told you earlier about my folks living here years ago ....well Mom died of cancer  on 26 December 1981  , here in Clearwater Fla. , she wanted and was cremated and as soon as my brother Earl and sister Janice came down , we all with Dad spread her ashes at a park that she enjoyed going to ...Its called Anderson Park.... so today 28 years later ,  Uncle Art  , Sharon and I went to the park to remember her and tell her we miss her and love her ...............It was nice ..........

Well we ended today at a BIG fleamarket its in Oldsmar , Fl and had everything from A to Z ....lots of stuff .......I think we'll go back tomarrow ......

So ,  thats about it ....we're still here for the next two weeks and then head south and will meet up with our friends  Jim and Shirley Perry ......so until my next blog I leave you with a couple pictures sent to me the last few days......

Hopeing you all had a good Chistmas and as I always end my blog ....For my Green Harbor friends ......Sharon is still here !!!!!!!!!!

Fun Fun Fun In Charleston South Carolina

After a night of camping at Camping World parking lot in Charleston S.C. in order to have our water heater replaced , we were ready for electric and water connections ......

Lake Aire RV Park was a site for sore eyes after a night with no electric or water ...... road traffic all night and trains blowing there horn every thirty minutes .........
The campground is only about about 30 minutes away from the center of Charleston ......that and the Duck/Turkeys ...that have free reign and are friendly ......

The rain just keeps following us .........our first day here in Charleston was the best .....we meet some of the nicest folks ........ touring the city we found the ammo depot from the very beginning ...a tour of city hall given to Sharon and I by Lindsey a sweet and smart 20 something southern girl....

We found a circcular church and talked to the pastor for an hour or so about the area and our new life as fulltime RVer's ......And we went to the famous Market Street  flea market ........

We had a meal that was like nothing else I ever had , spicy shimp with greens and vegatables in a pumpernickle roll...uummm good.

Found a community theater and bought two seats to The Sound Of Music .... It was similar to Rochesters Geva ..but not quite as good ......I only wish my friend Joe Calabro could have been there also ....he just loves musicials ......

The folks next to us here are from Ontario , Canada .. They have been staying here for winters and then return home for the summers ....they have two cute dogs ...this one they resuced from a puppy mill ....

Ray made some suggestions for us , one to see a 400 to 500 year old tree .....and to go to the county Festival of lights ....... Ray and his wife Judy are also season ticket holders to the Charleston Stingray Hockey team ........We took his advise and did all three things..........thanks Ray ....

I was going to carve my name on it .....there were signs asking not to ....darn ....

It was really nice ....lots of lights !!!!!!!!

They won ....I'm told their  league is
below the Rochester Amerks

Tonight we are going to a benefit concert with 5 or 6 bands ....rock and country rock ....should be fun.........

Tomorrow we head to Clearwater , Florida ...... we both agreed to needing more sun and less rain.......we'll be there for Chirstmas as I made a reservation for 30 days ........My Favorite uncle Art and his wife Mary live close and I hope to spend some time with them .....

Sharon , took the Vibe to do some laundry this week and she went alone .....It would of been a good time to drive home ......but she returned to me and the RV. So for my Green Harbor friends ........ She's still here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all of our family and friends :  We miss almost all of you and will be thinking of you during Chirstmas and The New Year   holidays........Please be care and safe ...we need you and look forward to seeing you in the spring .......

Blessing to you and yours ........Paul and Sharon Lenhard

Trip From VA. To Surf City , N.C.

Well , after a two week stay in Norfolk , we left for Surf City N.C. on Tuesday , Dec 1 ,2009 ........The skys were clear and the sun shone so brightly it felt like the start to a new adventure that could only be wonderful ...

So the drive was good and we saw some neat stuff .....

This is a cotton field in N.C. that wasn't pick yet
This is a bunch of picked cotton ...big blocks the size of tractor trailers

Today is Thursday 3 Dec 2009 , we had some wild weather last night .......heavy rains ...a little hail ....winds up to 80 mph .....there were tornado warnings ....we didn't see any but our RV was swaying side to side .....Sharon wants to buy a weather radio soon....I think we will........

We traveled around the area the last two days ........yesterday we went shoppings around here .....a real hardware store and a buffalo wing place with good wings and dollar pints of BUD lite ......

Today , we went to some towns here.....finding a very cool antique store , it took a good hour to look at and it was good stuff no junk .......

Tomorrow , we go to Wilmington , N.C. .......Sharon says there's alot of History there .......Some neat shops and for me a retired battleship.....The USS North Carolina to tour ........

Sharon said the Laundry room from the last campground was the best one she has ever seen ....so for all you laundry mat lovers heres a few shots....

Just a few shots of the tunnel under the water at Norfolk Va.........

THANKSGIVING IN NORFOLK VA.

Sharon and I arrived here on Saturday the 14th of November . Our son Paul and his wife Laura made arrangments for us to camp on a Navy/Army base called Fort Story . Its a very bare bones campground ...they had a bad storm just before we arrived and are cleaning up little by little ......but costs only $18.00 a day ... That includes water and electric . We're around 25 minutes from their house ....we've made that trip almost daily ......well worth it to spend time with them and baby Kaylee ......

Camp Henry is right on the water and home to the first ever built lighthouse in the U.S.A. Sharon and I climbed to the top , we stopped around four or five times to admire the brick work ( ok , I had to stop to catch my breath ) The builder was picked by President G. Washington.
here are a couple pictures .........

We'll spend Thanksgiving with Paul and Laura ......Laura's Mom and Dad , Bob and Sharon Crnkovich are coming down from N.Y. also .......We spent last Thanksgiving all together too.....looks like a tradition has started......Bob and Sharon are fun to be with and we look forward to seeing them again ....now I guess we'll have to share Kaylee time with them ....Paul's Mom Esther works at a bank and can't make it down for dinner ..but will for the the weekend ...not sure about her husband Micheal ..he'll be cooking if he does come.....a real good cook he is !!!!!! Makes his own beer and wine too .........

My birthday was on the 22nd ......Laura made a pineapple upsidedown cake ( my favorite ) along with KFC for dinner ........

We plan on getting on the road again on the Tuesday after the holiday....Let the working folks get off the road and home first .......

Our next stop is Charleston , North Carolina ...for a few days of history and siteseeing the weather should be alittle warmer too .

For all our Green Harbor Friends ........

Sharon is still here !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you and your families have or had a thankful and safe Thanksgiving ..Till next time ....Paul and Sharon
