Fun Fun Fun In Charleston South Carolina

After a night of camping at Camping World parking lot in Charleston S.C. in order to have our water heater replaced , we were ready for electric and water connections ......

Lake Aire RV Park was a site for sore eyes after a night with no electric or water ...... road traffic all night and trains blowing there horn every thirty minutes .........
The campground is only about about 30 minutes away from the center of Charleston ......that and the Duck/Turkeys ...that have free reign and are friendly ......

The rain just keeps following us .........our first day here in Charleston was the best .....we meet some of the nicest folks ........ touring the city we found the ammo depot from the very beginning ...a tour of city hall given to Sharon and I by Lindsey a sweet and smart 20 something southern girl....

We found a circcular church and talked to the pastor for an hour or so about the area and our new life as fulltime RVer's ......And we went to the famous Market Street  flea market ........

We had a meal that was like nothing else I ever had , spicy shimp with greens and vegatables in a pumpernickle roll...uummm good.

Found a community theater and bought two seats to The Sound Of Music .... It was similar to Rochesters Geva ..but not quite as good ......I only wish my friend Joe Calabro could have been there also ....he just loves musicials ......

The folks next to us here are from Ontario , Canada .. They have been staying here for winters and then return home for the summers ....they have two cute dogs ...this one they resuced from a puppy mill ....

Ray made some suggestions for us , one to see a 400 to 500 year old tree .....and to go to the county Festival of lights ....... Ray and his wife Judy are also season ticket holders to the Charleston Stingray Hockey team ........We took his advise and did all three things..........thanks Ray ....

I was going to carve my name on it .....there were signs asking not to ....darn ....

It was really nice ....lots of lights !!!!!!!!

They won ....I'm told their  league is
below the Rochester Amerks

Tonight we are going to a benefit concert with 5 or 6 bands ....rock and country rock ....should be fun.........

Tomorrow we head to Clearwater , Florida ...... we both agreed to needing more sun and less rain.......we'll be there for Chirstmas as I made a reservation for 30 days ........My Favorite uncle Art and his wife Mary live close and I hope to spend some time with them .....

Sharon , took the Vibe to do some laundry this week and she went alone .....It would of been a good time to drive home ......but she returned to me and the RV. So for my Green Harbor friends ........ She's still here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all of our family and friends :  We miss almost all of you and will be thinking of you during Chirstmas and The New Year   holidays........Please be care and safe ...we need you and look forward to seeing you in the spring .......

Blessing to you and yours ........Paul and Sharon Lenhard

  2. Who painted that George Washington work? I've seen it before and thought it was Gilbert Stuart, but now I'm not sure. Did you ask?

  3. It all sounds great! Your blog is wonderful. It's funny, you're not liking the rain, well it beats snow all day long. Well except for when I was driving Tuesday night to a winter solstice concert and the snow falling, Christmas lights, and the Liberty Pole, well let me just say it was magical.
But rain beats snow almost all the time. We have snow today. :(
That tree is amazing. 400-500 years old, imagine what it has seen? Oh trees don't have eyes. But you know what I mean. Year 1609-1709. What was happening then? Well I'm off to google the year 1609. Keep enjoying your RV'ing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  5. I'm the 20 something guide for the City Hall Council Chamber and for a while I couldn't get the blog to come up. I'm enjoying it now! As for the question on the post from Jessi: the portrait of George Washington was done by John Trumbull in 1791.
